About the position
The main duties of the person selected for this position will be to support and accompany professors who will be teaching courses labelled In-depth Experiential Learning Stream (IELS) during the 2025-2026 academic year, the first year of implementation of the new regime in the Bachelor of Social Work program. This regime emphasizes the implementation of teaching activities inspired by andragogical principles that value experiential knowledge, meaningful learning, teamwork, the pleasure of learning and direct links with practice.
Responsibilities
As part of this role, the Experiential Learning Specialist will create a repertoire of experiential learning activities that can be used in courses identified in the Honour in Social Work program.
The successful candidate will also work with professors to identify the most appropriate experiential learning activities for the course, given the objectives and themes being addressed.
The specialist will also attend the classes where the activities will be carried out, in order to document the experience.
The Specialist's role will also be to develop an administrative follow-up plan that includes the various administrative tasks to be carried out around the different experiential learning activities, as well as the deadlines to be met for each of them.
Qualifications
Master's degree in social work. A Master's degree in a related discipline combined with solid field experience in social intervention could also be considered.
Skills required
Sustained experience in university teaching, social work or a related field.
Official languages: active French and passive English.
Very good knowledge of health and social service organizations in the National Capital Region region.
Knowledge of information technology.
Autonomy, organizational and teamwork skills.
Preferred skills
Experience in developing experiential learning activities.
Familiarity with andragogical principles.
Salary: $50,000
