Rounding Details:

- It takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete rounds.

On-Call Information:

- Expected number of call-backs during a 24-hour period: 0-1

- Estimated calls received while on call: 5

Patient Load Details:

- Expected patient encounters per day: 10-15

Licensing and Credentialing:

- An active license is required.

- Temporary privileges are available.

- The credentialing process takes approximately 90 days.

Certifications Required:

- PALS

Specialty Skills in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology:

- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser).

- Injection of varices.

- ERCP: Diagnostic and Therapeutic.

- PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy).

- Esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation.

- Small Bowel biopsy.

- Lower GI endoscopy.

- Sigmoidoscopy: Flexible and Rigid.

- Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp.

- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).

- Liver biopsy.

- Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube.

Other Details:

- Board certification is required.

- Providers with IMLC are not allowed.
