Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage a litigation caseload involving civil rights and employment discrimination defense
Represent clients in state and federal courts as well as administrative hearings
Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
Conduct depositions, oral arguments, and evidentiary hearings
Perform legal research and analyze case law
Attend and manage client communications, strategy meetings, and case planning
Handle some matters involving student disciplinary hearings and appeals
Qualifications - Needed:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to practice law in New York
Superior academic credentials
Minimum 2 years of litigation experience (employment discrimination, civil rights, or general litigation preferred)
Excellent writing and research skills
Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence
Demonstrated interest or background in employment law, civil rights, or constitutional litigation
Former government attorneys encouraged to apply
