Creative Financial Staffing is working with a well-known retail establishment in Cambridge, MA to identify a Controller to lead their accounting functions

The group is partnered with a major educational institute in the Boston area, this retailer has been in business since the late 19th century

This position reports directly to the CEO and handles all accounting and finance functions; total control of the process

Great partnership with the store merchandising department and the community at large

Responsibilities of the Controller:

Own the month-end close including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed assets

Create reports for the CEO and other leaders

Process payroll for the team (>15 employees)

Analyze expense categories and create corresponding dashboards

Correspond with investment advisors

Background Expectations for the Controller:

Bachelor degree in Accounting or experience equivalent

5+ years in accounting with 2+ years owning the close

Ability to work independently on the accounting process

Experience in NetSuite is a plus
