Accounting Consultant - hybrid in Anne Arundel County, MD

This is a project based opportunity expected to last 3+ months
Schedule: Typically 7-4 or 8-5 M-F but very flexible. Ability to do four 10 hour days if desired.
Candidates must be comfortable with a few hours of overtime
Position is hybrid in Severn, MD. They are flexible to do some work from home days if needed after training.
Job Responsibilities for the Accounting Consultant:
Assist with running operations of accounting department
Prepare financial statements
Interface with auditors
Participate in weekly cash flow projections
Oversee the month-end and year-end close process
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
Streamline and implement processes, policies and procedures, and internal controls
Prepare budgets, financial statements and P&L statements
Work with the IT external or internal team to bridge gaps in the accounting system
Qualifications for the Accounting Consultant:
5+ years' senior level accounting experience required
Extensive knowledge of GAAP
Experience in the manufacturing industry a plus
Proficient Excel skill required; ability to do pivot tables a huge plus!
Experience using SAGE 300 a plus
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related a plus
