Title: Payroll Specialist
Working Arrangement: In office
Reason for the opening: Newly added position.
POSITION TYPE: Full time. In Office located in Royal Oak.
Duties:
Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and union employees accurately and on time.
Calculate regular, overtime, holiday, and shift differential pay.
Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.
Review and verify timecards, timesheets, and electronic timekeeping systems.
Work with supervisors to resolve missing or incorrect time entries.
Monitor attendance policies and flag discrepancies or violations.
Keep up with changes in wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and employment standards.
Generate and submit payroll reports to HR, Finance, and management.
Prepare reports for audits, workers' compensation, and labor cost analysis.
Maintain accurate payroll records and confidentiality of employee information.
Coordinate payroll deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
Manage year-end processes including W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documentation.
Respond to employee inquiries about pay, taxes, and deductions.
Reconcile payroll accounts and assist in resolving discrepancies.
Support internal and external payroll audits.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required.
5+ years of payroll processing experience is required.
Full cycle experience from retrieval of timesheets through paycheck production is required.
Computer skills: Word, Excel, and experience with Payroll software.
Maintain employee payroll records and payroll reports

Update all payroll tax information on payroll reconciliation sheets after each payroll
