Project Overview:
Client is embarking on an S4 transformation project to upgrade its current SAP ERP solution from ECC to the latest version, SAP S/4HANA. This transformation will involve significant changes to data structures, underlying tables, and business processes across all business units. Given SAP's central role in connecting various third-party systems and solutions, this project will impact nearly every user within the organization.
Scope of Work: The IT Solution Analyst (Consultant) for the SAP EAM/PM area will be responsible for leading work within or across the end-to-end solution lifecycle of the Operations team. This includes Meeting Business Needs: Ensuring that IT solutions align with and support the business strategy. Operational Soundness: Guaranteeing that IT solutions operate effectively across all business units. In-Depth Knowledge: Providing expertise in business needs, processes, and corresponding solutions within SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and connected non-SAP systems. Technical Guidance: Partnering with cross-organizational team members to ensure solutions align with architecture and IT strategy. Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as a key contact for business, customer, and stakeholder groups, ensuring that business needs, value, and risks are well represented. Deliverables: The consultant will be responsible for: Leading the transformation of SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, particularly in the EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) space. Ensuring seamless integration of the Plant Maintenance (PM) module with other SAP modules such as supply chain, finance, and project systems. Providing technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborating with various teams to ensure the successful implementation and operation of the new system. Engaging with stakeholders to understand and address their needs and concerns. This role is crucial for the successful execution of the S4 transformation project, ensuring that Client's IT solutions are robust, efficient, and aligned with the overall business strategy.
What does a typical day look like?
A typical day for the IT Solution Analyst (Consultant) dedicated to the S4 HANA project at Client involves a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including Incident Management: Start the day by addressing any tickets or incidents reported in ServiceNow, ensuring the system remains stable and operational. Daily Stand-Up Meetings: Participate in daily stand-up meetings with the project team to discuss progress, challenges, and priorities for the day. User Training and Support: Conduct user training sessions to help users understand the new S4 HANA system and its functionalities. Address any user questions or issues that arise. Solution Delivery: Work on solution delivery activities, including leading analysis and design sessions, preparing necessary plans, demos, artifacts, and procedural documentation. Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business areas, customers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and opportunities. Represent their interests in strategic planning and investment prioritization. Operations Management: Review the performance of implemented solutions, assess the health of systems and processes, and drive actions to avoid service disruptions and minimize impacts. Documentation and Reporting: Document solutions, user training sessions, and any issues resolved throughout the day. Prepare reports for project progress and system performance. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-organizational team members to ensure alignment with architecture and IT strategy. Provide coaching and direction to less experienced team members. Throughout the day, the consultant stays abreast of industry and technology trends within the Operations EAM area to continuously improve solution delivery practices and customer satisfaction. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation and operation of the S4 HANA system at Client.
What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required?
Educational Background and Experience: Bachelor's Degree: In Technology, Science, Business, or a related field, or 4 years of equivalent experience.
SAP EAM Experience: At least 7 years of related functional experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), including project or product delivery practices (SDLC, Agile, Waterfall), preferably with a Utilities client.
Full Cycle Implementation: Experience with at least one full cycle implementation for SAP S/4 HANA.
Technical and Functional Expertise: SAP S/4 HANA Knowledge: Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of SAP EAM end-to-end processes and system capabilities, especially in S/4 HANA.
Hands-On Experience: Functional, configuration, and design experience with SAP systems in EAM, Plant Maintenance (PM)/Service Management (SM), and Project Systems (PS) modules.
Experience with Fiori and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) modules is a plus.
ServiceNow: Experience with ServiceNow for incident management.
