CFS is working with a client in the Oil & Gas industry to identify a seasoned Director of IT Security. This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role based 100% onsite in The Woodlands, TX. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise security architecture, governance, and compliance, along with the interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

In this role, the Director of IT Security will report directly to the CIO and take ownership of the organization's cybersecurity posture. The previous Director has recently departed, and the CIO is currently covering these responsibilities. The organization is eager to onboard a strong leader to refocus the CIO's efforts elsewhere and maintain strong momentum across security and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities for the Director of IT Security:

Design and implement comprehensive security architecture across infrastructure, networks, and applications.

Develop and maintain enterprise-wide security policies, standards, and procedures.

Lead security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses in partnership with internal teams and third-party auditors.

Oversee deployment, integration, and configuration of security solutions (including upgrades and improvements).

Partner with IT leadership, vendors, and contractors to ensure a secure and compliant technology environment.

Qualifications for the Director of IT Security:

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in IT Security.

Advanced degree (Master's preferred).

Proven background in audit, compliance, and enterprise-level security strategy.

Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Certifications (not required but highly desired):

GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)

GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC)

ISACA CISM

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security

(ISC) SSCP, CISSP, ISSAP
