A Distribution Engineering Associate is an entry-level position in the field of electrical engineering, focused on assisting in the design, planning, and management of electrical distribution systems. These professionals work under the guidance of experienced engineers to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable distribution of electrical power.

Assist in Distribution System Design: Collaborate with senior engineers to design, plan, and optimize electrical distribution systems.

Help create detailed drawings and plans for distribution infrastructure.

Data Collection : Meet in the field with customers to establish electrical needs.

Collect and analyze data related to the distribution network, including load data, system performance data, and asset information.

Assist in the selection and specification of distribution equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and protective devices, considering voltage levels and load requirements.

: Ensure that distribution system designs and plans comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry codes.

Assist in obtaining regulatory approvals.

Emergencies and Outages : Assist in responding to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures.

Collaborate with the team to help restore power quickly during and after working hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field is preferred. Some positions may consider candidates with an associate degree or relevant coursework.

Professional Development: Entry-level engineers may be encouraged to work toward obtaining a professional engineering license (PE) or other certifications as they gain experience.

A Distribution Engineering Associate is an important part of the engineering team, contributing to the planning and management of distribution systems. This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

This position may require some driving, other than the normal commute.

Required PPE will be furnished except for steel toe boots, which will be the responsibility of the successful candidates.
