Patient Access Rep I Highlights
The pay for this position is $23.00-$25.00 per hour.
Available shifts:
6:30am - 2:30pm with occasional Saturday (1 opening)
7:00am - 3:00pm with every other weekend (1 opening)
3:00pm - 11:00pm (2 openings)
11:00pm - 7:00am (1 opening)
This is an onsite position.
This position is a full-time contract role.
Responsibilities
Verify hospital outpatient visit authorizations using payer portals.
Research and confirm patient insurance benefits with accuracy and efficiency.
Communicate effectively with physician offices and hospital sites to ensure seamless patient access processes.
Provide outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and internal departments.
Support daily administrative operations related to precertification and patient access.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital authorization verification.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Strong working knowledge of payer portals and healthcare insurance benefits.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility
Monitor patient appointments and information
Maintain patient rights by educating patients
Check and verify patient insurance coverage
Responding to patient and patient family complaints
Assemble patient medical record forms and prepare patient identification
Obtain all necessary insurance information from patients
Explain patient inquiries regarding hospital charges, insurance payments or insurance coverage
Resolve incoming patient account calls from patient regarding account statement
Retrieving of patient medical charts
Resolve daily patient issues from sales reps regarding patient billing and patient statement requests
Verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling appointments and ensuring patient demographics are
Maintain patient flow and update waiting patients
Obtain pre-patient registration, demographic and insurance information
Prepare patient records for all patient appointments to include outreach locations
Cancel appointments for patients and documents accordingly in patient electronic medical record (EMR)
Prepare patient charts for medical staff
Obtain current patient information from established and new patients
Update patient information into system
Obtain patient information from both new and established patients
