Position Information

UC Riverside's Campus Business Services is recruiting for the Mail Services Supervisor. The full salary range for the Mail Services Supervisor is $51,600 - $87,000 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $78,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Note: Eligible candidates must be able to obtain and maintain clearance as required by the U.S. Department of State for passport acceptance agents, per 22 CFR 51.22(c).

Under direction of the Director of Campus Business Services, the Mail Services Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the Mail Services staff and processing of inbound and outbound campus mail at both Mail Office and Highlander Service Station. The incumbent creates schedules and adjusts routes as necessary. The Mail Services Supervisor evaluates daily productivity and maintains quality control of mail processing. The incumbent also manages front counter operations in the Mail Services building and provides timely response to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person. Will provide direct assistance running front counter, processing and sorting mail, and delivering parcels during peak times and/or when staffing is limited.

Education

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)License Requirements

Valid driver's license and clean driving record. (Required)

Experience Requirements

4 - 7 years of related experience. (Required)

Experience sorting and delivering packages or parcels. (Required)

Customer service experience. (Required)

Experience in a large mail room or postal operation. (Preferred)

Experience with point of sale systems. (Preferred)

Previous supervisory/managerial experience. (Preferred)

Minimum Requirements

Proficiency in basic computer applications. Working interpersonal, persuasive, mentoring, and leadership skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, sound judgment, ability to multi-task effectively in a high volume environment, organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of USPS services and guidelines. Client service minded with an entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills. Working knowledge of mail, package, shipping and express services operations, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance requirements from postal and other services, domestic and international.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of work order systems and package tracking systems. Knowledge of the UCR campus. Knowledge of supervisory principles and team building. Ability to safely inspect suspicious mail packages and provide instruction to staff.
