Overview:
A private family in New York City is seeking a dedicated, professional, and educationally oriented Weekend Nanny to care for their children, ages 2 to 8 years old. The position is live-out in NYC with housing provided in the Hamptons during the summer months.
This role requires coverage from Friday through Sunday, with an additional day (Thursday or Monday), and involves working collaboratively with a team of 2-3 full-time nannies. The ideal candidate is polished, nurturing, flexible, and passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, hands-on care for children ages 2 to 7
Plan and engage in age-appropriate, educational, and enriching activities
Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene, nap time, and bedtime
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
Maintain cleanliness and organization in children's areas, including bedrooms and playrooms
Manage children's laundry and wardrobe organization
Travel with the family as needed, including extended summer stays in the Hamptons (housing provided)
Work in coordination with fellow nannies to ensure seamless, high-level care
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role with young children
Excellent references from current and previous private employers
Background in early childhood education, teaching, or tutoring is a strong plus
Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
CPR and First Aid certification required
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Polished, poised, and professional with excellent judgment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
Confident swimmer
Flexible to work evenings, overtime, and weekends as needed
Willing and excited to travel domestically and internationally with the family
Valid U.S. work authorization
Valid driver's license and passport
