What You'll Be Doing
You'll take part in the mechanical assembly of new-build jet engines, with opportunities to support rebuild and overhaul projects. This is not repetitive work-each engine requires up to 500-1,000 hours to complete, and tasks evolve daily.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform sub-assembly and final assembly of jet engines using detailed instructions, BOMs, and tool lists
Work from both paper-based and electronic (computer-based) documentation
Use manual and powered hand tools along with torque wrenches (pre-set torque values provided)
Operate hoists and pallet jacks to maneuver engine components
Alternate between bench work and standing assembly stations-engines may be assembled while hanging
Self-inspect and peer-inspect all work using inspection sheets that outline what and how to inspect (no testing involved)
Follow strict quality, safety, and ITAR compliance standards
Tools & Work Environment
Hand tools (manual and power-assisted)
Torque wrenches (with provided specifications)
Hoists and pallet jacks
Indoor, climate-controlled assembly facility
Task variety and movement between workstations daily
Ideal Background
We are prioritizing:
Veterans with powerplant maintenance experience
Technicians with a valid A&P license
Candidates with at least 5 years of mechanical assembly experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read and apply sequential BOMs, torque specs, and technical instructions
Experience with complex mechanical assembly work
Must be comfortable sitting or standing for long durations
Documentation required for ITAR-regulated facility access
Preferred Skills:
Diesel mechanic or similar heavy mechanical background
Familiarity with aviation inspection and maintenance protocols
