We are looking for an experienced Pipe Welder to join our team for a night shift position in Waller, TX. This role requires a strong background in MIG and flux core welding, especially in heavy fabrication environments involving carbon steel pipe and structural components. Candidates must be skilled in both structural and pipe welding and capable of passing a 6G test.
This contract-to-hire opportunity operates Monday through Friday, 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM, with some Saturdays as needed. Weld testing includes visual inspections, 3F/4F with flux core, MIG root with flux fill and cap, and either a 6G or 1G rollout on 4" pipe. The workload is approximately 80% pipe and 20% structural, and all work involves carbon steel. The typical schedule is five 12-hour shifts during the week (5:30 PM start), with an additional 6-8 hour shift on Saturdays.
Perform MIG and flux core welding on carbon steel
Weld structural components including skids, beams, and plates
Execute pipe welding on 4" pipe using 6G or 1G rollout technique
Pass a 6G weld test (visual inspection required)
Run 3F/4F welds and complete full bead runs on all sides
Adhere to a night shift schedule: 5:30 PM - 5:30 AM, Mon-Fri (some Saturdays)
Maintain high visual standards and weld integrity
Work flexibly across structural and pipe assignments
