Accounting Clerk
Location: Hybrid role in Columbus, OH
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000
About the Role:
Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization that is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their finance team in Central Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure the financial engine of the organization runs smoothly. You will be responsible for high-volume invoice processing, data accuracy, and supporting month-end close-all in support of a greater mission that positively impacts the community.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk:
Invoice Management: Collect, code, and enter 60-80 invoices per day with a high degree of accuracy.
Work Order Updates: Cross-reference invoices with related work orders and update the internal system accordingly.
Project Support: Enter and maintain accurate project-related data in the organization's project database.
Check Matching: Match outgoing checks with corresponding invoices for approval and record-keeping (note: this role does not perform check runs).
Filing & Records: Maintain organized digital and physical files; assist with pulling records and documentation as needed.
Month-End Support: Assist the finance team with month-end close activities related to accounts payable.
Preferred Qualifications of the Accounting Clerk:
2+ years of accounts payable experience, including high-volume invoice processing
Experience in property management or construction environments is a plus
Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems is a plus
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
