We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Finance Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to bring their expertise to a growing organization and contribute to our continued success. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhance our quality programming and build capacity. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the senior leadership team; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
Oversee month-end and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
Lead the organization's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the grant accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with grantor's requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth.
Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end close, grant accounting, and annual budget planning.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, standards, and state/national regulations, along with a proven track record of working with complex budgets.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and guide team members, ensuring efficiency, meeting of deadlines, and adherence to the company's accounting standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
CPA designation is an asset.
Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus.
