The VMWARE SME manages end-user support, network operations infrastructure, web applications and cloud support, customer relationship management, and security support. Provide ongoing Operations and Maintenance support on the Application Hosting Environment (AHE), ensuring 99.9% application and system availability. Provide real-time 24/7 monitoring of all IT infrastructure hardware and software components.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.
Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 5 years of experience which should be related to supporting VMware products. Relevant experience, including customer facing and IT consulting.
Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+ certification, CompTIA Network+ certification, Microsoft Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification, MCITP: Windows 11, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician.ITIL v4 or latest
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan, implement and maintain the standalone VMware hosts for development and other customer-owned equipment.
Plan, implement and maintain the centralized storage, FC that VMware uses to host VMs in both development and production.
Allocate or provide storage for VMs on FC and ISCSI storage, as needed.
Plan, implement and maintain VMware’s Virtual Center for development and production servers
Create virtual machines.
Migrate from physical host hardware to virtual machines, as needed.
Create and maintain virtual machine templates.
Troubleshoot and monitor VMware hosts and VMs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 5 years of experience which should be related to supporting VMware products. Relevant experience, including customer-facing and IT consulting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The estimated pay range for this role is $70K – 140K with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience. Contigent upon award subject to change.
