Night Shift: from 3 PM for 8 - 10 hours, 4 - 5 days a week plus occasionally overtime.

Position Description

The duties of this position provides the first step for the completion of the total door package before shipment to the customer, ensuring the highest quality and care is taken to exceed customer expectations and satisfaction.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Safety minded in all work activities; suggest and recommend safety initiatives; commitment to safe work habits.

• Reading and understanding the specifics of the job order instructions for individual customer orders.

• Pulling and staging the correct materials and quantity of materials for individual customer orders.

• Ensuring that work instructions are followed precisely to successfully complete the door package.

• Reading pick sheets, layouts, and processes per individual customer orders.

• Understanding and operating punch presses.

• Understanding daily production goals and work at a pace that meets or exceeds those requirements.

• Inspecting raw materials to ensure no pre-existing damage or scratches due to defective incoming materials prior to staging.

• Constructing header and door panels from machined aluminium to the specific customer order.

• Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This position requires the following essential knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily fulfil the position:

• The ability to use basic mathematics including fractions for measuring, cutting, and calculating lengths and widths of materials.

• Detailed oriented using fine visual and manual skills.

• The ability to use basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and drills.

• The ability to use punch presses.

• The ability work in a fast-paced environment for an extended period of time.

• The ability to read and understand layouts, shop orders and process control documents.

Reliable and well-disciplined; ability to work well with others and follow instructions.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

1+ year experience in fabrication or assembly using industrial tools or machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. This is a walking position for up to 10 hours per day on a concrete factory floor. Ability to lift 30 or more pounds both overhead and at waist level. The position requires continuous moderate or occasional heavy physical activity due to lifting 16’ to 21’ aluminum extrusions onto a rolling cart for up to 10 hours per day. The employee is required to walk, reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Exposure to intermediate/loud noise is expected when working in the manufacturing environment. The work environment is climate controlled.
