Summary/Objective of Position:
Assists the Chief of Staff and the Office of the President with developing stewardship strategies for donors, foundations, and other organizations. Creates and implements a comprehensive fundraising plan for annual giving, including mail, e-strategies, and donor solicitations. Assists in developing strategies focused on the College's mission that will build a culture of philanthropy for the College. Works with key colleagues to manage all related data elements to ensure data is collected and shared.
Description of Essential Functions of the Position

90% - Assist with developing stewardship strategies for donors. Works with key colleagues to manage all data elements to ensure data is collected and shared. Assist in developing strategies focused on the College's mission that will build a culture of philanthropy for the College. Create and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for annual giving, including mail, e-strategies, and donor solicitations.
Develop and execute segmentation strategies, analyze results to determine modifications or creation for future strategies. Develop a written master plan and calendar for all phases of annual giving. Conduct regular and year-end assessments of the Annual Fund and performance. Design, coordinate, and implement donor acquisition, upgrade, and renewal strategies for annual giving programs.
Collaborate with the advancement services team to monitor and evaluate program results, obtain market research, and other data to identify new strategic opportunities. Establish and maintain a moderate-to-high level of collaboration with both internal department partners and a moderate level of collaboration with broader College partners to identify and integrate resources in order to accomplish fundraising goals and objectives.
Lead efforts in planning, executing, and marketing events and initiatives to raise funds, engage alumni and donors, and enhance the visibility of the College.
Serve as the liaison between the College and prospective and current donors, foundations, and other organizations to cultivate and solicit stewardship funds and/or other resources. Assist with planning visits of prospective and current donors, foundations, and other organizations related to the solicitation and cultivation of funds and resources.
Assist in gathering information and resources and in developing and presenting proposals for funding from prospective and/or current donors, foundations, and other organizations.
Through Jenzabar and other internal software, develop a pool of prospects for individual cultivation and solicitation from this constituency. Assist in leading the strategy, development, and execution of digital campaigns such as #GivingTuesday, Giving Days, and digital challenges.
Work with colleagues and teams to ensure a collaborative and successful digital fundraising effort. Research, test, and explore emerging fundraising technologies and make recommendations for the annual giving program. Recommends changes and improvements to processes, objectives, and goals based on evaluation of completed programs to dramatically increase engagement and participation and maximize and ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources.
Completes written communication, including thank you letters, reports to the Chief of Staff, President, and Board of Regents; alumni and student success stories; promotional pieces; and others.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or a closely related field, and experience in working with donors and special event planning, digital marketing, and management experience.
Equivalent experience of 5 years in higher education donor solicitation may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Preferred:
In addition to the minimum requirements, 3-5 years in higher education donor solicitation, special event planning, digital marketing, and management.
Knowledge:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and interpersonal skills. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Successfully completing projects efficiently and on time; strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Skills:
Understanding of philanthropic trends to advise and collaborate on donor strategies.
Communications and Media skills, including media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and educate via written, oral, and visual media.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, and ability to learn other software that may be applicable.
Oral fluency in Navajo is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Abilities:

Ability to work on a team, conduct collaborative research, and deal effectively and courteously with supervisor, peers, and external stakeholders.
Familiar with and interested in working with key fundraising shareholders and potential donors.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
Ability to solicit funds through collaboration and other initiatives.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:
Work is performed in an office setting, to include but not limited to the use of a personal computer, enter, retrieve, and analyze data; ability to attend and participate in meetings and trainings.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to internal and external customers via multimedia.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to travel, and use of the College's vehicle are required.
Other Requirement(s):
Must have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and successfully pass a background check.
Other licensing may be required depending on position and/or are of assignment.
