JOB TITLE: Toolmaker II

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

PAY RATE: $28.75/hour

Contract Length: 12 months (with potential extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Responsible for laying out and constructing tools based on Tool Design drawings, Engineering specifications, or hand sketches.

Calculate material needs and operating various tool shop machinery to fabricate and assemble quality tooling.

Set up and operate tool shop machinery and equipment to fabricate tools based on Tool Design and Engineering drawings or sketches.

Calculate material requirements, as well as proper speeds and feeds for machining operations.

Use precision measuring tools and inspect own work for accuracy and compliance with specifications.

Assist in the tool prove-out process for new and reworked tooling.

Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Operate carts and forklifts as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required

3 years of machine shop experience and/or machine shop training from a Vocational Technical School

Valid Driver’s License required

Strong understanding of shop math and blueprint reading

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Experience setting up and using measuring instruments and shop tools

Must be reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
