Overview
Starting Bonus and Relocation Provided
Responsible for the medical care of LSCC patients by providing comprehensive out-patient primary care. Under the direction of the Medical Director collaborating supervising physician and the medical leadership, delivers primary care commensurate with training to patients of LSCC. Delivers care appropriate for an out-patient, primary care community health center with a multicultural, multilingual patient population.
Coaching/Training:
Provides in-service training for staff in selected topics in Pediatrics as deemed necessary by the Medical Director
Assure a high quality educational experience for medical students, residents and other individuals in a training role
Operations:
Assists and participates in internal quality control audits.
Actively engaged in achieving their productivity and quality metrics
Fulfills established guidelines set in place for provider encounter levels.
Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with his/her training
Demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine
Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community
Ability to recognize and understand the public health, social, and economic factors which impact the overall health of LSCC's patients
Ability to support LSCC's mission and readily serve its patient population
Maintain a professional manner and appearance that contributes to the professional image presented to individuals within and outside of LSCC
Ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation
Ability to work in and support an electronic health records environment
Required experience, education, and license:
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas
WHNP Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (WHNP)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Minimum of one (1) - two (2) years of nursing experience
Preferred experience, education, and license:
Two (2) years' experience as a WHNP in healthcare clinical setting
Previous work using electronic medical records (EMR)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
All LSCC employees function as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home where emphasis is on excellent communication, support of the patient in self-management and care is provided and tracked in a culturally competent, behaviorally enhanced setting supported by information technology.
