Job Description

The Licensed Psychologist Behavioral Health has the responsibility of providing evidence-based therapy services and psychological assessment for a diverse patient population. The Licensed Psychologist will report to the Psychology Director and the Medical Director of Behavioral Health.

Essential Functions

The Licensed Psychologist’s duties will include:

Completion of psychological evaluations and providing written reports to patients

Following clinical practice policy and procedures, attending case conference meetings, and reviewing treatment plans as needed.

Collaborating with other departments, i.e. primary care, psychiatry and social work in an effort to coordinate care for the effective treatment of patients.

Attending trainings and workshops as required for professional and program development.

Assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) among pediatric and adult populations (preferred)

Working in collaboration with Billing and Compliance to adhere to behavioral health Quality Assurance processes

This is in addition to the usual duties of a Legacy Psychologist:

Psychological testing for children and adults (appr. 2:1 ratio)

Therapy opportunities (Behavioral therapy, CBT, and group therapy

Participation in multidisciplinary team conferences with psychiatrists, psychotherapists, social workers, and case managers

Assess a client’s needs, abilities or behaviors using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests.

Offering therapy and treatments for difficulties relating to mental health diagnoses.

Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to insure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives

Education & Training Requirements

A doctoral degree is required as a psychologist. Psychologists with a Ph.D. or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)

Must hold current licensure.

Must uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.

Bilingual ability with English and Spanish is preferred.

Flexible hours available.

Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education (CEUs) to maintain professional license and maintain good standing with professional licensing board.

Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served.

Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.

Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.

Must pass criminal background check.

Work Experience Requirements

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the healthcare field.

At least two (2) years of testing experience.

Experience with the accreditation process through a national recognized entity and at a minimum involvement with at least one (1) or more survey process.

Able to work collaboratively across the business, operational and clinical levels.

Ability to establish clear and concise communications with staff and team in writing and in speaking.

Prior experience in a community healthcare setting desirable.

Oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.

Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment essential.
