Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Manager to oversee our laboratory operations and medical billing at Danner Laboratory Inc. This multidimensional role is responsible for managing full cycle of medical billing, scheduling of technicians, supply room stocking, accessioning of incoming specimens for processing and weekly quality reporting.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Supervise laboratory staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills.

Oversee quality control processes and ensure accurate data management practices.

Implement and maintain document management systems for laboratory protocols and procedures.

Coordinate assay development, including Cytology slide preparation, PCR and immunoassays, to support diagnostic testing.

Manage scheduling for laboratory workflows to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Skills & Attributes:

1. Proven experience in office management, insurance billing, or related roles.

2. Strong multitasking ability, ensuring efficient management of phone lines, insurance billing, and office operations.

3. Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and insurance representatives.

4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

5. Problem-solving skills, especially in managing insurance disputes or billing errors.

6. Ability to stay organized in a busy, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.

7. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

8. Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with insurance billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or other healthcare systems).

9. Knowledge of insurance billing processes, including understanding insurance terminology, codes, and regulations (experience with specific insurance platforms/software a plus).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.

Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with managerial responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques including RNA extraction, PCR, and immunoassays.

Excellent data management skills with proficiency in document management systems.

Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
