Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Works closely with the Branch Director/Exec in ensuring the cleanliness of the YMCA facility. The appearance of the building reflects on the organization. The Maintenance Custodian needs to have a keen eye for detail, be diligent, and be thorough in working, cleaning, and tidying the premises.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Cleans and maintains YMCA facilities and equipment.
· Makes basic equipment/facility repairs.
· Models a safe atmosphere in a drug, alcohol, sexual, smoke, and profanity-free environment.
· Engages and interacts withthe Branch Director/Exec continuously during scheduled shifts.
· Follows a schedule of daily and monthly custodial/maintenance tasks.
· Secures facility after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarm.
· May be expected to perform light landscaping duties.
· Comprehends and complies with the MSDS sheets and log book for safety.
· Maintain a professional appearance and behavior per YMCA policies.
General
· Attends all staff meetings.
· Arrives on time for scheduled work shifts and performs work duties the entire shift.
· Refers anything that appears out of the ordinary to the Branch Director/Exec.
· Reports all accidents to Branch Director/Exec, without exception.
· Follows all Central Coast YMCA policies and branch procedures.
· Acts safely and acceptably, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common sense safety rules in all on-the-job activities. Encourages coworkers to do the same.
· Conducts self in a manner that reflects credit on the Central Coast YMCA and encourages others to do the same.
· Maintain a professional appearance and behavior per YMCA policies.
· Complete all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
· Basic Knowledge of computer skills (e.g. email, Word, Excel).
· Ability to keep track of hours worked, and to record those hours in a web-based timesheet application.Company Description

Full-time
