RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design control systems for continuous web handling machinery to the sold specifications
Lead Controls Engineering Projects from kick-off to installation/commissioning at Customer site
Coordinate the review of the mechanical and electrical design to ensure it meets engineering specifications and sequence of operation
Assist designers in the generation of BOM's (Bill of Materials)
May oversee the work of other design engineers and work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner
Provide backup support for assembly, purchasing and field-service related questions and problems
Attend job kickoff meetings, engineering review meetings, and customer meetings
Travel up to 10% for customer visits, vendor meetings, and start-up/commissioning as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Controls and Electrical Engineering Manager
Awareness of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, EHS&S programs SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or controls related 4-yr degree
7-10 years of controls and electrical systems design experience with industrial automation or automated machinery preferred
Control System design including electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, BOMs, test plans, manuals, etc.
Extensive experience with high-speed servo applications and variable frequency drives (VFD's)
Extensive programming knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC's required
Extensive HMI programming experience using applications including RSView ME/SE or Wonderware
Experience with SCADA systems and their requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Expert in utilizing Microsoft Office products
Enhanced written and verbal communication skills required
