We are seeking an Emergency Management Specialist at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), Edwards, AFB, CA.

Description:

ASRC Federal on the ASTROS contract supports Propulsion Research efforts in many areas. The ASTROS Emergency Management Specialist will support efforts around the site in emergency preparedness and also support a response to any incidents to ensure the AFRL is ready should an emergency take place. The Emergency Management Specialist will serve as a resource to ensure test and facility support are properly planned, documented and personnel learn their roles in the AFRL emergency response plan. This position requires a proactive, organized, and knowledgeable individual capable of managing complex emergency situations effectively.

Key Role:

Oversee the AFRL Emergency Management (EM) Plan for the work site.

Support a dynamic Contract that has multiple sites that are either in test or performing test build-up.

Ensure the EM team is performing the required audits and inspections on all lifesaving equipment.

Review the EM Program on a regular basis to ensure compliance with Air Force, state and federal regulations.

Interface with AFRL and main base Edwards AFB, Leadership.

Ensure area Emergency Response Plans are reviewed and approved on a regular basis.

Assist with the coordination between the Incident Command AFRL in support of small and large incidents or outside agencies as necessary.

Recommend Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to the Incident Commander to support RQ-West related emergencies.

Coordinate in the planning and upper-level communication of EM exercises to ensure the response teams and recovery teams are properly trained to respond.

Oversee internal audits to ensure inspections and maintenance is taking place on emergency equipment. Weather Towers, Breathing Air equipment and other lifesaving equipment as needed.

Must be able to work out in the field performing reviews and monitoring work efforts.

Review local Emergency Management plans, perform inspections and assist customers in being prepared.

Must have excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to make professional presentations to the customer

Must be punctual with attendance at the work site and reporting information to the customer

May be required to serve as a back-up Site Operations Control Operator Education/Experience:

BS/BA Degree + 8-10 years of related experience or equivalent

Technical Writing ability would be a plus

Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities Clearance:

Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance required
