Customer Experience and Event Assistant (Part-Time, Year-Round)

JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality front-line customer experience to patrons and assisting with facility special events, rentals and parties as well as ongoing public programming.
OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:
Building understanding of facility operations and scheduling to assist with facility rental requests and rental payment tracking
Responsible for updating facility schedules including the preparation of the monthly customer-facing facility schedule, the monthly freestyle calendar and special event calendars
Creating marketing materials such as fliers and social media posts
Providing on-site assistance for special events, birthday parties, bumper cars and other programs as assigned
Supporting the setup and breakdown of special events
Assisting with birthday party inquiries, such as schedule availability and emailing welcome letters and surveys
Assisting with inventory of general office supplies and lost and found inventories and cleaning
Greeting walk-in visitors and directing patrons to rinks, locker rooms and events
Developing relationships with customers and patrons, providing high-quality customer experience and proactively exceeding their expectations
Answering phone calls and questions about the facility, website, registration, programs, events and rentals
Providing program information and registering participants for programs
Checking in and/or processing POS transactions for skaters on freestyle sessions, public skate, open hockey, rentals and walk-in bumper cars and registration payments
Processing freestyle transfers, submitting cancellation requests and troubleshooting concerns that may arise
Setting up supplies and equipment for public skate, freestyle, parties and special events
Responding to customer inquiries via email, phone and in-person
Balancing daily work deposits (cash, checks, credit cards) and printing daily cash journal at end of shift
Responding to emergencies following EAP and completing incident/accident reports as required
QUALIFICATIONS
The best candidates will have:
At least 2 years of experience in customer service, events or recreation
An outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic personality and team player
The ability to multi-task, prioritizing customer needs and job duties
Display critical thinking and a collaborative problem-solving mindset
Outstanding communication skills both in person and over the phone
Computer skills essential
SCHEDULING & PAY
This is a year-round, part-time position, working 20-25 hours per week, including some nights, weekends and holidays as required. The schedule will include two to three weekday shifts (Monday-Friday) and one Saturday shift per week. The target hiring range is $16-19/ hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
