Family Support Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree from an accredited university in Early Childhood, Social Work or related field. Experience in word processing and spreadsheet data entry is required. This job requires excellent verbal and writing skills. Excellent public relations experience required as well as experience in working with large and small groups is desired. This individual must possess a valid driver's license. Employee must be able to walk for 4 hours. Job requires occasional bending/stooping/squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling. Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds. Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation. Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate with employees, students, and parents. The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.
CONTRACT: 10 Month Contract
WORKING HOURS: 7.5 - 8 hours daily
REPORTS TO: Principal
EVALUATED BY: Principal
GRADE: V
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Monitors attendance to check on the reasons for student absences.
Works with families to increase parent involvement with their child.
Plans and hosts special events for parents/families and students during school and after regular school hours.
May make home visits to check on students who are absent without excuse or have not notified the school.
Works with teachers to make home/school contacts and visits as positive as possible.
Functions as liaison between school and various social service and state agencies to make their services as helpful as possible.
Helps coordinate mental and physical health care services to those who need assistance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
