TITLE: Transportation Coordinator

Terms of Employment: 200 days/8 hrs

Salary: Transportation Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma as a minimum, associate degree or higher preferred, Minimum of three (3) years in a related transportation field is desirable, Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL State Training Certification. Have a Valid Georgia Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement, air brake endorsement, "S" endorsement, and verification of an acceptable seven (7) years driving record through the Department of Motor Vehicles, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills verbal and written, Must be able to multitask work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure, Self-Motivated with a positive professional attitude, and work well as a team,

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Director

Supervises: None

JOB GOAL: To Assist the Transportation Director with the efficient running of the department.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and maintain all bus routes for Madison County Transportation

Prepare beginning and end of year information to disperse to Transportation Team

Audit routes as needed by riding with the driver, driving the routes etc.

Must be willing to drive a bus route if needed

Work with bus drivers to maintain student rosters, seating charts and routes

Active participant in the accident preparedness team (active on scene assistance)

Assist in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of training activities/events

Efficiency in learning new software programs such as Excel, bus routing software, etc.

Oversee special bus equipment to ensure safety and compliance meeting all local, state, and federal guidelines

Schedule and oversee bus drills

Regular and effective communication with stakeholders regarding transportation needs (schedules, changes, etc.)

Must attend training and professional learning as it relates to the position

Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the Transportation department

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the board

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
