Advanced Ceramic Coatings, LLC. (ACC) is a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Lincotek Surface Solutions. ACC is a leader in the ready-to-engine airfoil applications market, namely thermal coatings for aviation components.
Position Summary
The successful employee will possess experience in a manufacturing industry with increasing responsibilities in Engineering,Operations and Quality. Strong focus on process improvement and waste elimination in their responsible areas working closely with Manufacturing and Quality. The Process Engineer will apply the following techniques and processes, teach and mentor best practices (Lean, Six Sigma, DFM, DFA, DOE, FMEA, VA/VE, etc.).
Essential Functions
Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality liaison to production during production hours.
Provide technical guidance to site, towards assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Work closely with customer, manufacturing, quality and engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality requirements.
Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action activities to permanently eliminate defects. Utilize Tops 8D and DMAIC approach to problem solving and non-conformances.
Assess manufacturing processes, gather process data (SPC) and interpret data (Process trial/risk assessments).
Design, run, test and upgrade manufacturing systems and processes. Supporting development of best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
Generate non-conformance tickets both following internal QMS documentation and GE eNMS system requirements supporting Quality.
Learn, develop, and continually improve inspection techniques as they are developed during New Production Introduction and existing inspections methods and revise 100% inspection to sampling across all product lines, transitioning from Quality Control to Quality Assurance.
Statistical Process Control system implementation train the trainer and maintenance/metrics.
Act as lead technical reference for customer and internal organization in the case of materials, coatings, and mechanical assembly application.
Read, analyze, and socialize customer process/part required specifications, managing varied facets of the NPI and continual improvement aspects of these process by putting actions/decisions into practice.
Develop coating/post-coating processes based on Customer requirements. Qualify new products/processes from NPI and continuously improve the existing processes.
Support production costs quotation and related feasibility studies as needed with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and quality. Project leadership to continually decrease manufacturing costs.
Determine and approve the process standards of a new component, meet NPI qualification stage gates and milestones, and provide customer products corresponding to the required quality specifications.
Develop, check, and improve component standards in order to promote actions for cost savings and process standard improvement.
Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to improve Key Performance Indicators for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Participate in Kaizen events, promote positive employee environment, and community involvement.
Work within the Company's Quality and Safety System context, in accordance with its procedures and requirements.
Willingness to work flexible shifts and weekends as business necessitates.

Work Environment
This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time off-shift position, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as business needs necessitate. As necessary, the position will support off-shift production to ensure customer satisfaction
Travel
Occasional overseas and domestic travel may be required to support the rapid growth of the company.
Education
A Mechanical Engineering from 4-year accredited college or in lieu of degree, 5 to 8 years of manufacturing/engineering experience. Competencies

Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt.
Proven experience in the Engineering field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial Gas Turbine industry strongly preferred.
CVD, Slurry coating application and thermal spray, APS coating experience sought, and capability to understand the coating production process are preferred.
Must be able to access controlled technologies.
New Product Introduction or Advanced Product Quality Planning experience is required.
Strong knowledge of Solid Works. Knowledge of CAM or Robot programming software is a plus. Knowledge of CN programming is a plus.
Must have excellent communication skills and experience interacting with all levels of customers, including technical managers.
Experience with ERP systems, including creation and management of bill of materials is preferred.
Must be able to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
Strong knowledge of both metric and US measurement systems.
Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Proficient with Minitab statistical software
