The Role:
This position will be based in our Clarkston, MI, office; relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Petroleum industry experience is strongly recommended.
The Branch Manager will lead and oversee all operational, financial, and strategic activities within the 200+ employee Clarkston branch, primarily focusing on driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This individual will be responsible for managing P&L, ensuring operational excellence, and coordinating across multiple business lines, including construction, excavation, service, electrical, HVAC, general contracting, EV, and sales, and warehouse operations. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams to meet organizational objectives and exceed customer expectations.
Ideal candidates will have experience in one of the following areas: Petroleum Servicing or Operation Management, Branch Manager for a National Service Provider, Commercial Building, or Construction-related / Automotive backgrounds.
This leadership position demands a results-driven individual who can cultivate customer relationships, enhance market share, and build high-performing teams while ensuring alignment with the company's overall vision and policies
Responsibilities
Preparing and managing a branch budget
Oversee the overall operations of the branch to build seamless coordination between teams
Reviewing and approving department budgets and ensuring that the departments are performing and are profitable
Reviewing and managing contracts with subcontractors and vendors
Partner with regional sales team to drive revenue and gross margin growth across all business areas, including construction, service, and equipment sales.
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and all other regulations
Develop and execute market plans to increase market share, penetrate new markets, and strengthen customer loyalty.
Enhance company and branch culture
Ensuring proper staffing levels
Creating growth strategies for various departments
Reporting financial results to leadership
Maintaining strong relationships with customers Requirements and Skills:
10+ years proven experience as a leader in a similar role
Professional certifications like Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred.
Ability to mentor and coach department managers to become strong leaders
Ability to explain and communicate financial results to direct reports and to leadership
Strong knowledge of various construction processes, techniques, and regulations
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards Competencies:
