Aperio Global is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Risk Management Engineer to support Security Control Assessor (SCA) activities in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will evaluate mission systems and enclave security postures, apply mission risk methodologies, and ensure that cybersecurity measures support, not hinder, operational effectiveness. You will work closely with SCA teams to integrate RMF (Risk Management Framework) controls into operational cyber environments, including DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations), OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations), and DODIN (Department of Defense Information Network) Operations. Support SCAs in evaluating mission system and enclave security postures, identifying high-risk conditions for escalation.

Apply risk-to-mission and risk-to-force methodologies to prioritize cybersecurity measures without degrading operational effectiveness.

Align RMF security controls with high risk escalation.( HRE) activities and mission risk posture. Ensure RMF controls are effectively integrated into Cyber operations frameworks.

Support the development, validation, and refinement of security control assessments to aid Authorization Official (AO) decision-making.

Assist in the creation and updating of policies supporting Operational RMF Integration efforts. REQUIRED: Active TS/SCI clearance.

5+ years of cybersecurity and/or RMF experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) programs.

Deep understanding of RMF processes, security control assessment methods, and mission risk methodologies (risk-to-mission, risk-to-force).

Experience supporting Defensive and/or DODIN within a DoD environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Familiarity with cybersecurity integration across mission operations and system engineering lifecycles. Knowledge and experience in assessing Mission Relevant Terrain-Cyber (MRT-C) and identifying vulnerabilities that impact mission success. DESIRED: DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II certification (e.g., CAP, CISM, CASP+).

Experience supporting Security Control Assessor activities directly.

Background in developing cybersecurity policies and procedures for

operational environments.

Knowledge of emerging cyber threats and DCO/OCO best practices. Journeyman Level Requires Bachelors and 3-10 years of experience, or High School and 11-14 years. Anticipated annual salary is $120,000-$128,000 Senior Level requires Masters and 10+ years of experience, or Bachelors and 12+ years. Anticipated annual salary is $140,000-$150,000 Benefits
