Qualifications:

Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter in Florida

Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students

Strong collaborative skills to work with both onsite and virtual interpreters

Ability to interpret for diverse age groups, adapting to varying needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of educational standards and practices related to deaf and hard of hearing students

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services for two students, aged 5 and 14, ensuring effective communication in the classroom

Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance students learning experiences

Participate in meetings and professional development to further skills and strategies

Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, as required by the school

Support a positive and inclusive environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Engage in continuous communication with students and staff to address any needs or concerns
