Key Job Elements

- Liaison with Welding Engineering and administer weld standards and policy as directed by Engineering to maintain the highest weld quality;

- Supervise and train welders to the highest level of quality, responsibility and performance;

- Maintain weld certification within the internal and external standards;

- Provide guidance and clarification of welder work to ensure compliance to established work instructions and procedures;

- Main point of contact for all welding related issues;

- Lead weld research programs and related technical projects;

- Coordinate and facilitate welding engineering meetings to resolve technical issues, cost reduction programs, layout improvements, and new process justification as required.

Education / Training

Preferred: Bachelors degree in Weld Engineering or Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 10 years experience as Welding Engineer in heavy industrial manufacturing/fabrication environment;

- Must have working knowledge of various manufacturing welding techniques;

- Experience in robotic welding applications;

- Must be able to demonstrate practical welding skills;

- Strong interpersonal and technical skills;

Excellent oral and written communication skills;

- Demonstrated competencies managing multiple work functions/projects;

- Experience in continuous improvement activities;

- Factory CAD, working knowledge of MRP, EPP, or SAP.
