Development of the necessary skills to successfully compete in the game of basketball.
Qualifications-Required: NJ Teaching or Substitute Teacher certification Experience working with students Able to maintain a positive learning environment Able to follow directions Able to communicate effectively with students Able to interact positively with the head coach and fellow assistant coaches Able to be a positive role model for athletes Able to be available the entire basketball season Ability to pass the required Criminal History Review Able to pass the Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Ability to pass the pre-employment physical Qualifications-Desired: Experience coaching high school students Prior experience as a basketball coach Prior experience coaching a high school varsity sport Duties/Responsibilities: Assists the head coach with planning practices Assists the head coach with planning game strategies Instructs students as directed by the head coach Follows the directions provided by the head coach Works with basketball team members as directed by the head coach Interacts with basketball team members to provide leadership and establish expected outcomes Works with basketball team members to develop to their respective potential Working Conditions: Gymnasiums Away Games School Bus Stipend to be determined by EHTEA negotiations Physical Requirements: (The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions.
