This individual will be responsible for producing and maintaining tooling that supports the production of components for major automotive brands. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in precision tooling, and the ability to consistently work to tight tolerances in a climate-controlled, safety-focused environment. Pay, Available Schedules, and Location

Ranging at $36 - $44/hour, paid weekly

1st Shift: 6am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Located in Minooka, IL

Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret complex technical drawings, engineering specifications, and handbook formulas relevant to automotive part production

Build, alter, and repair intricate dies, jigs, fixtures, and special machines used in high-volume automotive manufacturing

Construct and modify tools and dies to meet demanding tight tolerance requirements and rigorous quality standards

Operate a full range of tool room equipment including mills, lathes, surface grinders, CNC machines, and EDMs

Manufacture custom tools and electrodes with precision, ensuring compatibility with high-speed stamping and forming operations

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair progressive stamping dies and associated tooling specific to the automotive sector

Use various precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and maintain compliance with automotive quality expectations

Safely operate a forklift and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace

Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support tooling improvements and resolve manufacturing issues

Complete accurate documentation related to tooling maintenance, modifications, and process changes

Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

5+ years of experience in tool and die making

Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to work with tight tolerances and high-precision components

Proficient in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring equipment

Experience operating a variety of manual and CNC tool room machinery, including EDM

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
