Summary:

The Rollins College Hamilton Holt School is seeking an Academic Advisor to join their team. The Academic Advisor provides academic advising and student support services for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at the Hamilton Holt School, including returning, transfer, and international students. This position may also provide advising to students enrolled in non-degree seeking programs offered through the Hamilton Holt School.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages an assigned caseload of undergraduate and/or graduate students and provides proactive, individualized outreach to support academic persistence and timely degree completion

Advises students on class selection, degree requirements, college policies and procedures, and available campus resources/services. Appropriately refers students to other offices

Assists students in identifying long term goals and career plans

Utilizes web-based advising tools to develop proactive communication campaigns, monitor student progress, and provide targeted support

Assists with the development of events and delivery of programs designed to facilitate student success

Uses data analytics and institutional tools to identify at-risk students, monitor academic progress, and support strategic retention initiatives

Collaborates with faculty on major-specific advising and engages in ongoing communication about student feedback, course scheduling, and student services indicatives

Maintains working knowledge of the academic programs they support, including curriculum updates, pre-requisites, and licensure or post-grad outcomes

Collaborates with key campus partners to deliver holistic, student-centered support

Contributes to monthly Holt School newsletter content and assists in maintaining an engaging social media presence with interactive, student-focused content

Actively participates in evening and weekend programs/events to support student engagement, experience, and success

Engages in ongoing training to ensure an understanding of academic programs, curriculum, policies, and resources/services available to students

Maintains electronic advising records and follows all confidentiality guidelines

Participates in college committees

Minimum

Qualifications & Education:

Bachelor's degree, applications with degrees in progress considered

At least two years of relevant work experience in the field of higher education, academic advising, or adult education

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills - self motivated

Knowledge of College environment, department, procedures, and policies

Knowledge and practice of organization and time management skills

Ability to use tact and good judgment in resolving work problems and dealing with others

Ability to deliver effective presentations

Knowledge of social media platforms and/or graphic design for internal promotions

Skilled in event and program planning, from concept to completion

Strong knowledge of MS Office and web-based advising tools

Excellent oral and writing skills

Work Environment:

Fast-paced office environment, some degree of visual strain

This is a full time, in-person, on campus position based at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Occasionally work remotely, with prior supervisor approval

Evening and weekend work may be required to support programs, advising availability, and campus events

Occasional travel to off-campus activities or professional development events
