Job Summary:
The Data Governance Analyst III is responsible for collaborating with leadership to develop the Data Management and Governance programs, multi-year roadmaps and tactical plans.
Essential Functions:
Draft data management policies, programs, standards and guidelines
Lead Data Domain Council meetings
Mentor and coach Data Governance Analysts and Data Stewards
Lead data stewardship workgroups and teams in data management and governance activities
Be a champion or ambassador of data management and governance principles across the organization – leading lunch ‘n’ learn sessions, knowledge sharing sessions, etc.
Maintain the group focus; lead discussion toward stated goals and manage the group dynamics in facilitating working sessions with Data Stewards, business subject matter experts (SMEs), and management teams
Gain an understanding of the stakeholder’s business culture and priorities, and the need for different modeling techniques when eliciting definitions and data quality requirements
Accountable and responsible for the success of specific data management programs (e.g. Data Quality Program)
Perform analysis and research to support and/or develop glossary definitions, policies, programs, standards, guidelines and workflows
Develop and report program metrics to demonstrate progress and compliance
Lead the development and maintenance of meta-data catalogs
Identify and quantify data related pain points within the organization and assist in the development of remediation plans
Collaborate with SMEs to develop business rules that measure and assure data quality
Facilitate discussions between end users and data modelers
Responsible for interacting with business and IT resources, and management to coordinate and monitor activities needed to initiate, run and conclude data management/data governance (DM/DG)
Perform any other job duties as requested
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
A minimum of six (6) years of experience in data management or governance, data analysis, data quality analysis, or technical business analysis is required
A minimum of two (2) years of Healthcare experience is required
Healthcare payer experience is preferred
Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office toolset
Proven ability to write basic SQL queries
Proven understanding of relational database theory
Ability to effectively interact effectively across all levels of the organization
Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at different levels
Ability to manage multiple medium to large scale projects
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams
Demonstrated sense of urgency
Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities
Solid understanding of data management and governance concepts
Effective communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
Quick learner; flexible; process oriented; highly organized and proactive
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Ability to prioritize work to meet project deadlines
Critical listening and thinking skills
Technical writing skills a plus

Working Conditions:
General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range:$92,300.00 - $161,600.00
