Requirements

Position Summary:

Joining the WIN team as an Accounting Assistant is an integral role within the Accounting and Finance Department, and as such, all ideas, input and constructive recommendations will be highly valued. This position will administer the processing of cash transactions which creates a foundation to successfully monitor the financial health of the organization as well as the foundation from which financial forecasts are developed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Inputting and retrieving data from tools like Great Plains, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, ConnectWise, and Excel

• Reviewing and processing vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with purchase orders and contractual terms

• Preparing and issuing checks and electronic payments

• Answering vendor questions

• Processing cash receipts

• Recording corporate card activity

• Completing annual 1099's

• Assisting with the analysis of financial activity

• Preparing documentation for external audits

• Communicating with other departments regarding financial data

• Gathering data for budget preparation

• Reconciling accounts

• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

An individual in the Accounting Assistant position should either hold or be actively pursuing an associate degree in Accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential, along with the ability to quickly learn and navigate accounting systems. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail are also key requirements for success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Assistant position will have experience with MS Great Plains or Sage Intacct, a strong working knowledge of advanced functions in Microsoft Excel and Word, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
