General Description
Employees in this position are involved in all technical aspects related to application systems and on-going support services. They assist with the development of project scopes, and pilot system efforts. They evaluate alternative delivery mechanisms to satisfy customer requests. Perform related work as required.
CITY RESIDENCY WILL BE REQUIRED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF HIRE.
Typical Work Activities
Troubleshoots assigned application systems and provides basic user support and problem resolution;
Programs new or enhancements to existing, automation solutions;
Performs system/unit testing, and associated validations of business applications;
Develops documentation for systems, programs, test plans, user training and documentation, and validation protocols;
Captures and records actions taken in Help Desk system per Help Desk procedures;
Assists in business process definition and performs analysis to identify improvement opportunities;
Implements vendor supplied upgrades and patches.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or closely related field;
OR
Associates Degree in Information Technology or closely related field and one (1) year experience in supporting computer applications.
