Plant Controller

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at our manufacturing facility. This role will be critical in driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, proficiency in SAP, and the ability to lead financial processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

Oversee all financial activities for the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.

Prepare and present detailed financial reports, KPIs, and variance analyses to senior management.

Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, U.S. GAAP, and relevant regulatory standards.

Cost Accounting:

Manage standard costing processes, including updates for raw materials, labor, and overhead.

Analyze and report on production variances, scrap, and inventory costs.

Develop and implement cost-control initiatives to improve plant profitability.

SAP Financial Processes:

Lead the implementation and ongoing optimization of SAP financial modules for the plant.

Ensure accurate data entry and reporting within SAP, including inventory, fixed assets, and cost allocations.

Train plant staff on SAP functionalities related to financial reporting and cost management.

Operational Collaboration:

Partner with plant management and operational teams to support strategic goals and enhance efficiency.

Provide financial insights to support decisions on capital expenditures, process improvements, and production planning.

Act as a key liaison between corporate finance and plant operations.

Audit and Compliance:

Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.

Maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the plant accounting team, fostering professional growth and development.

Ensure cross-functional alignment on financial goals and accountability. Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

Experience:

7+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or accounting.

At least 3 years in a Plant Controller or similar role.

Hands-on experience with SAP, particularly in financial and cost accounting modules.

Skills:

Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and financial controls in a manufacturing environment.

Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Experience with capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis

Preferred:

Experience in lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.
