Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Facilities Engineering team. In this role, you will play a vital role in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment that support our high-tech battery manufacturing operations. You will contribute to continuous improvement efforts, ensure system reliability, and collaborate with multiple departments to meet production and facility performance goals.
Responsibilities:
Apply mechanical engineering and facilities expertise to support business operations and long-term facility planning
Design and develop specifications for mechanical equipment and systems to support facility and production needs
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and apply analytical skills to minimize downtime and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR)
Provide operational support for mechanical systems, including centrifugal fans, burners, heat exchangers, chillers, pumps, cooling/heating coils, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
Communicate system updates and technical information to facility leadership and system operators
Provide training and support to Facilities team members on mechanical system operations, maintenance procedures, and enhancements
Collaborate with other departments on both planned and reactive projects involving mechanical system upgrades or modifications
Ensure mechanical systems meet capacity, performance, and reliability requirements of production and customer expectations
Create and maintain documentation such as roles and responsibilities matrices to support organizational efficiency and change management
Lead or support the contractor selection process, including bidding, evaluation, and procurement, for mechanical-related design and construction projects
Implement new engineering solutions to replace aging mechanical infrastructure and equipment at end of life (EOL)
Review, validate, and approve mechanical and facility design drawings across various stages of development
Prepare and deliver technical reports, schedules, and presentations to department leadership and company management
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field Experience:
2+ years of experience managing, developing, or supporting mechanical and/or facility infrastructure projects
Experience with mechanical systems in a manufacturing setting required; battery production facility experience is a plus
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, chillers, air compressors, steam/hot oil boilers, SRPs (secondary recovery processes), dust collectors, and cooling towers Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD
Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
Korean language proficiency is a plus, but not required
