Lead Finance Position partnering with Company President and Leadership

Immediate hiring need, based on site in Burlington, VT 5 days a week About Our Client

The Financial Controller will report directly to the company President and lead the Accounting & Finance function. The company have been around for many decades and are in the Construction sector, but they're open to speaking to Controller candidates coming out of different industry sectors outside of Construction.

Job Description

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and construction industry standards.

Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Oversee payroll, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) functions. Financial Leadership & Strategy

Serve as the senior finance leader, providing strategic financial guidance to the Company President.

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Support the company's growth by evaluating financial risks and opportunities.

Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including cash flow forecasting and long-term financial planning.

Optimize financial resources to support business objectives and project funding. Project & Cost Accounting

Oversee project accounting functions, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, budgets, and profitability by project.

Work with project managers to develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

Ensure proper job costing and allocation of labor, materials, and overhead expenses.

Monitor contract performance, billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with industry standards (e.g., percentage-of-completion accounting). Budgeting & Cost Control

Develop annual budgets and financial projections in collaboration with department leaders.

Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability and efficiency.

Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for operational improvements. Technology & Process Improvement

Implement and enhance financial and accounting systems to streamline operations.

Leverage construction accounting software for improved reporting and decision-making.

Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the finance function. Page Group USA is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field

CPA, CMA, Master's Degree preferred but not essential

Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing an accounting function

7 - 10 + years of progressive Financial Leadership tenure

Construction sector tenure preferred but not essential

Financial software and ERP systems What's on Offer

Base Salary, target range: $120,000 - $130,000

Annual bonus eligibility (discretionary)

401k plan/company profit sharing plan
