Title: PCB Designer (PADS) - High Power Electronics

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled PCB Designer with expertise in PADS and a background in high-power electronics. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and PCB design skills rather than a mechanical focus. They will be responsible for managing and improving our PADS library, ensuring consistency between schematics, reference designators, PCBA layouts, and MRP BOMs. This role requires extensive documentation control, change management, and collaboration with internal and external teams to support product development.

Key Responsibilities:

Overhaul and maintain the PADS library to improve consistency and usability.

Ensure alignment between schematics, reference designators, PCBA layouts, and MRP BOMs through thorough checking and corrections.

Manage and execute Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).

Own and manage Gerber files, design packages, and uploads to the company's hard disk-based server system.

Work closely with PCB fabrication houses for DFM (Design for Manufacturability) considerations.

Collaborate with PCBA assembly teams at Crescend to optimize DFA (Design for Assembly).

Translate eCAD designs into mechanical models for SolidWorks teams, ensuring accurate communication between electrical and mechanical CAD.

Support CPD (Concurrent Product Development) initiatives.

Preferably, have experience with RF PCB design. Required Qualifications:

Strong PCB design experience using PADS (Altium users must be willing to transition).

Background in high-power electronics (electrical focus preferred over mechanical).

Experience in Document Control & Change Management related to PCB designs.

Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (preferably Epicor).

Familiarity with Gerber files, PCB fabrication, and PCBA assembly processes.

Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with mechanical engineers (SolidWorks integration).

Experience working with DFM/DFA principles and external manufacturing partners. Preferred Qualifications:

RF PCB design experience is a plus.
