Import Specialist

Candidates must be coming directly from another freight forwarder and be based in San Francisco. Those who do not meet this criteria unfortunately cannot be considered.

Freight Appointments is working with a large global forwarder in San Francisco that's expanding its imports team. They are actively hiring for an Import Specialist to handle both air & ocean. Experience with shipments to/from China is a plus.

Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Import Specialist who is able to handle both air and ocean. This role will require communications between forwarders, custom brokers and customers while managing cargo movement to ensure correct measures are in place and all needs are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Handling full process A-Z

Track and trace

Quoting

Arrival confirmation

Responsible for assisting department co-workers with problems, issues, and questions

Inputting data into CargoWise

Issue documentation

Responsible for reviewing all documents

Assists the day-to-day operations of the import department

Responsible for informing management of progress and requirements of the department

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years working in a freight forwarding environment

Good knowledge of TSA regulations

Good knowledge of air and ocean imports

Customer service within a freight forwarding environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

CargoWise experience is preferable
