Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Engineer - Guidance Navigation Control. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Manhattan Beach, California and will support the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join the team supporting activities including flight simulator development, GNC algorithm development and implementation, "test as you fly" test development, model verification and validation, and requirements validation.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

Work in multi-disciplinary teams to develop, verify, and validate a complex 6-degree of freedom missile flight simulator.

Design and implement guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) algorithms.

Develop software tools for analyzing GN&C performance

Conduct system performance assessments for performance against mission requirements.

Perform GN&C system and accuracy analysis of flight tests.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Active Top-Secret Clearance

Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model

Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS

Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools

Experience with SysML, UML, or other modeling languages

Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers

Experience in Software and/or Hardware design

Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
