The Program Coordinator of First Year Experience (FYE) in Academic Success Programs within the Office of Undergraduate Education participates in the development, planning, implementation, and assessment of FYE initiatives and the work of FYE Peer Leaders, with significant focus on affecting the success of identified first-year students to reduce retention and graduation gaps. Collaborates to represent and promote FYE and its initiatives with campus partners (e.g., academic advisors) who are crucial in helping first-year students navigate their transition to college/Ohio State; this position helps to “tell the FYE story” through communication and marketing campaigns, data analysis and visualization and intentional education about and advocacy for first-year students. Develop/design publications; Serve as liaison for University Communications team and communications specialists across other units, helps to create content for FYE-News email for families; Develop outgoing email communications to new first year students & campus stakeholders; Utilizes various platforms (Salesforce CRM, OnCourse advising tool, PeopleSoft Student Information System, Qualtrics, OnBase, etc.) to document student engagement and support data-informed initiatives. Develops relationships with key partners in the colleges and in the offices of Strategic Enrollment Management, Student Life, Academic Colleges and other student support units to foster collaboration and execute initiatives that aim to affect the success and retention of prioritized first-year students. Participates in and provides support for recruitment, yield, orientation, retention, and other activities in support of Academic Success Programs goals. Represents FYE at campus events, meetings, and committees. Responds to inquiries from students and parents as needed. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. Experience working in higher education. A valid driver's license is required.
Desired qualifications:
Master's degree in student development, higher education and student affairs, or related field. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience with developing strategic relationships to affect the success of underserved student populations. Experience in working with underserved populations. Knowledge of tools and strategies that aid in student retention and success. Knowledge of and experience in data analytics and visualization. Excellent communication skills, including writing and public speaking.
The targeted hiring range for this position is $19.09 - $25.10/hr. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
