Systems Engineer

Description

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration, and troubleshooting of complex virtualization and end user computing solutions. This position will perform a mix of operational and project based work, and be hands-on with cutting edge technology such as application and desktop virtualization, micro-segmentation, and hyper-converged infrastructure.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:

· Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy

· Experience with Microsoft Azure / Entra

· Experience implementing and supporting virtualization solutions (Nutanix AHV, VMware vSphere, etc)

· Able to troubleshoot complex systems and provide tier 3 escalation for Microsoft server and desktop operating systems and applications, as well as monitor and optimize performance

· Vendor agnostic enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategy

· General familiarity with storage (SAN/DAS/HCI) supporting virtualization environments

· General familiarity with networking – vendor agnostic physical and virtual switching and routing, common ports and protocols, firewalling

· Ability to be given a business outcome and determine the technical steps required to deliver it

· Ability to attain industry certifications through self-study in support of partner requirements

· Security first mindset

· Strong attention to detail.

· Strong ability to work independently with limited direction, but knows when to ask for help.

Exceptional candidates will also have:

· Experience implementing and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops or other End User Computing technology

· Experience with Citrix NetScaler

· Experience with automation and/or scripting

· Linux familiarity

· One or more industry professional level certifications (VMware VCP or above, Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V) or above, Microsoft server/cloud certifications, etc)
