The Project Manager/Estimator at Blakeley BoatWorks will prepare vessel repair timelines and create milestones for projects. Once work has begun, this person will oversee vessel repair projects.
Other responsibilities include:
Prepare price estimates & bid analysis based on RFQs received from vessel owners
Continuous monitoring and evaluation of project to ensure all project targets are achieved
Prepare reports regarding project status and send to customers
Coordinate project requirements and work scope to shipyard crew
Determine manpower requirements for each project in order achieve optimum efficiency while meeting project costs and schedule requirements
Resolve issues related to specifications/work scope/priority conflicts to ensure all project goals are met
Coordinate revisions, changes, additions to project work scope between shipyard production team and vessel representative
Ability to determine/calculate specifications for equipment selection on repair and new construction vessel projects (pumps/engines/under water machinery/load calculations/pipe sizes/etc..)
Oversee all equipment procurements for project to ensure timely delivery of materials
Ensure that all projects are completed in accordance within company procedures and safety policies
Confer with various classification agencies (ABS/USCG), surveyors in order to maintain compliance of classification and regulations Requirements
Experience & Requirements:
Adept with ABS/USCG classification and regulatory requirements
Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
Excellent time management ability and multi-tasking
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in AutoCAD
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Word) Education
Bachelor's in Science - Engineering (Marine/Mechanical)
Will consider other Majors/Degrees with qualifying experience
