D.L. George & Sons Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Drafting Manager with a strong background in AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) standards to lead our drafting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of detailed structural steel drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing project timelines effectively.

Drafting Manager Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field-preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel drafting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, etc.) and other relevant drafting tools.

Strong understanding of AISC standards and steel fabrication processes.

Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and AISC standards to implement best practices within the team. Drafting Manager Responsibilities & Duties:

Review and approve all drafting work, providing constructive feedback and guidance to team members.

Manage project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure that drafting deliverables are met on time.

Lead and mentor a team of drafters in the creation of structural steel shop drawings and erection plans.

Ensure all drawings meet AISC standards and are accurate, complete and produced in a timely manner.

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications. Drafting Manager Physical Requirements:

Must meet D.L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualifications.

Ability to work 40 to 50 hours per week. D.L. George & Sons Employee Benefits:
